The world's first and largest battery powered bulk carrier, owned by Berge Rederi, will operate on both batteries and rotor sails. The vessel will cover aprox. 230 nautical miles, without any emissions, between Elnesvågen and Brønnøy. It is estimated that this vessel will reduce emissions by a staggering 9 000 tons CO2 and 200 tons NOx annually.
Future of the Fjords
Future of The Fjords is the worlds first all-electric, zero-emission passenger vessel. Delivered in 2018, it has a 1794kWh battery system and the e-SEAMatic BLUE fully electric solution with a unique power dock for shore charging. It was awarded Ship of the Year in 2018.
